Northeastern Research Team Aids North Carolina Hurricane Relief
A student and faculty research team, led by CEE Assistant Professor Kelsey Pieper, is assisting hurricane relief efforts in North Carolina by creating databases to determine what buildings and wells have been affected by the storm. Testing Well Water To Help Owners Manage Water Quality
Kyla Drewry, PhD’25, civil and environmental engineering, under the guidance of CEE Assistant Professor Kelsey Pieper, led a team of PhD students on a research trip to North Carolina where they tested private well water. One in four residents using private wells in that region is faced with contamination issues.

Undergraduate Students Publish Research at 2024 IEEE MIT URTC
Ise Okhiria, KCS ’25, and Alyssa Lee, S ’25, who are recipients of the Fall 2023 PEAK Experiences Awards and advised by CEE/Khoury Assistant Professor Fatemeh Ghoreishi, will present the results of their project in a publication at the 2024 IEEE MIT Undergraduate Research Technology Conference (URTC).
