Churchill-Kanders Scholarship Nominee
Hyun Lee, E’23, environmental engineering and health sciences, was nominated for the Churchill-Kanders Scholarship, which was established in 2017 to address the growing divide between science and public policy by funding a Master’s in Public Policy at Cambridge University.

Pankow Foundation Greenlights Phase II of Hajjar’s Steel Plate Flooring System Grant
CDM Smith Professor and Chair of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Jerry Hajjar announced a $415,000 grant constituting Phase II of a multi-year grant from the Charles Pankow Foundation totaling $835,000 to date. The award is in collaboration with other universities, industry partners, and industry sponsors.

Northeastern Nominates Four COE Students for Prestigious Knight-Hennessy Scholarship
Benjamin Lanava, E’24, Leah Ragosta, E’24, Kritika Singh, E’20, and Alex Storrer, E’24, were nominated by Northeastern for the Knight-Hennessy Scholarship, which recognizes and supports young leaders, tuned to the challenges of the 21st-century, supporting their graduate educations and providing a community of support and engagement.

Time Magazine Names Northeastern Research-Supported Company’s Turbine Towers to Best Inventions of 2023 List
Time Magazine selected the spirally welded wind towers as one of “The Best Inventions of 2023,” highlighting the innovative and efficient approach developed by Keystone Tower Systems with support from CEE Professor Andy Myers.

Students Nominated for Prestigious Marshall and Rhodes Scholarships
Benjamin Lanava, E’24, environmental engineering, and Siddharth Simon, E’24, computer engineering/computer science, were nominated by Northeastern for the Marshall Scholarship and Lanava also for the Rhodes Scholarship. Both prestigious awards support study in the UK for those distinguished by their academic accomplishments, records of leadership, and drive to serve.

A Climate Dialogue To Remember: South Asia and the 2023 Monsoons
