Engineering Alumnus Leads Innovation in Large Scale Automation Recycling
Alumnus Maarten Eenkema van Dijk, E’14, MS’15, civil and environmental engineering, utilizes the problem-solving and leadership skills gained from his college co-ops to serve as executive vice president of VAN DYK Recycling Solutions, his family’s business that designs, builds, and maintains warehouse-sized recycling machines processing 70 tons of waste per hour across North America.

New AI Tool to Keep India’s Transportation Running in Monsoon Season Made by Northeastern Graduate and Professor
CEE PhD alumni, Udit Bhatia, PhD’18, and COE Distinguished Professor Auroop Ganguly, have co-founded a startup company based on a tool called AIResQ, an AI tool that predicts the magnitude and impact of flooding in Indian cities, especially helpful during monsoon season.

VHB Launches Scholarship Program for Northeastern CEE Undergraduates
VHB established a $1 million endowed scholarship fund in the name of founders William “Bill” Roache and the late John Kennedy, both Northeastern alumni, to support undergraduate academic excellence in civil and environmental engineering at Northeastern University, continuing a long history of collaboration between the department and the company.
