Cheryl Arruda Joins Civil and Environmental Engineering Co-Op Team

The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) welcomes Cheryl Arruda (above right), to join its co-op team alongside Assistant Co-op Coordinator Jessica Ormsby (left). She will join the CEE team as an Associate Co-Op Coordinator. “It gives me great pleasure to be joining the CEE co-op team,” said Arruda. “I feel a personal connection to the program—my grandfather was an alum from many years ago!”

Arruda comes to CEE by way of the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering. There, she worked with students studying operations research, data analytics, and industrial and mechanical engineering to find them co-op placements. She joined Northeastern University in 2013, and has served in Career Development, the College of Science, and the College of Engineering. Arruda holds a MS in Higher Education Administration from Northeastern and BS in Hospitality and Tourism Management from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst.

The move to CEE is an opportunity for Arruda to help students make an impact: “Students and graduates from CEE are shaping our future,” She said. “I’m excited to help students on their path and see what they accomplish!”
